Connie is the Director for WMU Fetzer Center, where they offer professional conference services as well as meeting, catering and social event services. She is a Certified Meeting Planner with over twenty years of experience. Her spare time is spent with her family, biking, practicing yoga and reading. She loves watching her WMU sports!
Jacque is passionate about many causes but her number one passion is educating others on the importance of making their health their number one priority. To that end, she markets ASEA REDOX as an independent associate. Jacque has been in business for more than 40 years, is a life-long resident and consummate volunteer. Her advanced degrees are from Western Michigan University. She is married, has one daughter, a son-in-law and two granddogs.
Having grown up in the greater Kalamazoo area, Amelia Barker-King has been a lifelong resident of this wonderful community. Amelia attended Kalamazoo College where she played softball and majored in biology. While there, she lived in Ecuador for six months, gaining familiarity with the Spanish language.
She offers an analytical, fun perspective on property aspects of Southwest Michigan, enthusiastic energy, as well as polished data analysis skills. As an essential part of The Barton Group team, she loves helping clients achieve their real estate and property goals. She enjoys working with real estate investors, business owners, town officials, and property owners to fulfill their specific needs.
Amelia loves the economic and community development aspects of real estate. Working on several projects to restore or to craft economic vibrancy, she has a large passion for the outlying towns in Southwest Michigan. She has successfully helped to bring several industrial, office and retail businesses to her projects in small towns.
Gaining experience with construction consulting, Amelia loves the finer details of construction and communication with building owners. Her favorite projects entail helping nonprofits save money throughout the process by representing them throughout the construction.
Amelia is involved with Great Expectations Chapter of BNI in Kalamazoo, Mattawan Business Association, Young Professionals, Women’s Council of Realtors, and Greater Paw Paw Business Network. Outside of business, Amelia enjoys teaching softball lessons. She also loves spending time with her husband, Derek, outside, traveling, cooking, and laughing.
Heather is the newest addition to the Mastermind Board and also to the Women’s LifeStyle & Expo team. She is the Membership Coordinator for Mastermind and is in charge of every event including reservations and all communications. She is also the event coordinator for the Expo. In her “spare” time she is also an account rep for WLSK! When she’s not working she enjoys spending time with her husband, playing with her dogs, going to the beach, traveling and reading.
Darlene is the Publisher of Women’s LifeStyle Magazine and the visionary behind the annual Kalamazoo Women’s LifeStyle Expo as well as the Mastermind group. Currently enjoying its 10th year of publication, the magazine reaches over 28,000 dedicated readers every month sharing information that is informative and enlightening. The Expo offers an opportunity for the community and business owners to interact in an atmosphere of relaxation and learning. After receiving several requests, Mastermind was created to serve as a resource and connecting force for the women of Kalamazoo. Using these three formats, Darlene is able to do what she loves the most – encourage and enable women to become all they were meant to be – whatever their passion.
